Estonia may be just a short ferry or plane ride from major European hubs like Berlin and Stockholm, but the coastal country falls short of most traveler's itineraries. A real shame, given the Baltic nation is straight out of a fairytale – we're talking castles, medieval houses, fortresses, viking culture, and all. Though the country is larger than both Denmark and Holland, Estonia spreads its 1.3 million people out across more than 200 islands (with an additional 2K uninhabited islets, to spare) affording itself one of the lowest European population densities around, and making way for millions of acres of pristine wilderness. Here, just some of the sights to see in the under-appreciated Northern gem.
