A FIRE DEPARTMENT CARVED FROM STONE

A small town in Italy called Margreid operates perhaps the most unique fire department in the world. The station is carved out of a mountain to order to avoid taking up arable land for agriculture. The interior walls are finished with beech coal dust and black paint to evoke the feelings of burnt wood.
