Damian Lillard is a proud Oakland naitve that has much love for his city. He may be playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, but his love for his roots will never go away. Thats’s why he returned to Oakland High School for a special community celebration to help give back to the place where he perfected his craft on the hardwood.
The event had hundreds of students from Oakland High School join Lillard to unveil improvements to the school’s gym, the weight room and a new state-of-the-art recording studio for the music program. Also during the event, Oakland High School and adidas surprised Lillard by retiring his Oakland High School #1 jersey that will now hang from the rafters. In addition, the celebration also included musical performances by Fetty Wap, Lil Uzi Vert and DJ Esco. This even is a continuation of Damian Lillard’s All Rise adidas campaign which aims to support communities through Damian’s interests in basketball and music.
