ELLEN DEGENERES' $45MM SANTA BARBARA ESTATE

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have owned more than seven homes together—including this Santa Barbara, California villa, which hit the market for $45 million. The talk show host is a known design-lover, with an HGTV show, book and home decor line to prove it. DeGeneres gave readers a look at the process of renovating this particular Tuscan-style villa, which was constructed in the 1930s by Wallace Frost, in her book entitled Home. Set on more than 16 acres, amid olive trees and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the two-story, 10,500-square-foot residence features special touches like a classic barrel-tiled roof, terracotta surfaces, rustic exposed ceiling beams, 18th-century Italian tiles, vintage light fixtures, and walls of locally quarried stone. There are six bedrooms, six baths, two half baths, and a total of nine fireplaces throughout the residence. Outside, you'll be transported to Europe thanks to the Roman-style pool, 18th-century Spanish gates, and an antique Italian column. Of course, modern luxuries abound, including an entertainment pavilion known as Jordan Hall and a tennis court.
